Individual categories The Nigerian Role Model Status shall be awarded to the person who in the preceding years "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between communities, maintaining integrity in field of Endeavour and promotion of peace in a collaborative effort.

Organizations seeking nomination into the Nigerian Role Model corporate status are, amongst others, expected to be seen as promoting a positive attitude and an unyielding desire to enhance the quality of life in the community, striving to unite our communities in collaborative efforts for her future prosperity, serving as an exemplary role model to young people in Africa, taking an effective and vigorous leadership role in the community, making significant contributions in their specific fields of endeavor and displaying exceptional character, representing their service with dignity and pride while contributing in an outstanding manner to the accomplishment of an Nigeria first Agenda.

The philosophy behind the establishment of Nigerian Role Model Awards, is that the sustained promotion of merit based on excellence are the key drivers to continuous innovations and inventions by the people and organizations, towards economic progress and advancement of humankind. In the Michael Young sense, "Merit is equated with intelligence-plus-effort", which requires to be constantly recognized and rewarded for the sustenance and advancement of society.
